Monique diMattina

3 - MdM2013

Singer/songwriter, Fulbright scholar, boogie-woogie barrelhouse basher, composer of crystalline piano miniatures, radio personality, in-demand session pianist and mother of two, Monique diMattina is one busy lady.

Recently returned to Melbourne after years in NYC, Monique has released 4 albums on Head/Jazzhead since 2009, to critical acclaim.  Her latest, 'Nola's Ark', was recorded in New Orleans at the famed Piety Studios with an all-star line-up of musicians from the bands of Harry Connick Jnr and Dr John.  'Nola's Ark' features songs written on Monique's popular 'Shaken Not Rehearsed' radio segment on 3RRR and ABC 774, penned and performed, within an hour according to listener requests - a party trick often pulled at live shows.

Monique performs regularly with Clare Bowditch, The Melbourne Tango Quintet and Doug de Vries, and has been featured
recently at the Melbourne International, Stonnington and Wangaratta Jazz Festivals and Ubud Writer's Festival.
